The game Left 4 Dead is not a new one. The last time I didn’t have enough time to play the computer games and I want to share with my experience with those, who had the similar situation. I have bought the game for about a week. Why did I do it? Firstly because of the good reviews and the possibility to play with the friends in Coop mode. The Coop mode is really the highlight of the game. Nobody will be surprised about a game that offers a multiplayer mode. There are lots of them today. I guess that it would be more surprising if a new game would come out without the Coop modus. Most of the games are aligned in the way that either one man against another one days or one team struggles against the other one. In Left 4 Dead you have the possibility, however, to go through the story together with 3 other friends. This is common to a single player game, but you play together with your friends. And I really enjoy it.
The game principle is very simple and interesting. The idea is that there is a lot of people living in a city overcrowded with zombies who are united in a groups to get out of town to flee. You take the role of one of the four protagonists and fight with others in the city.
If you play as the master or Expert, the only way to stay alive is to fight in the complete cooperation with the co-player You should not „go“ through alone and overthink every step, because if you won’t you will be killed faster and your friends occur in danger.
It is also interesting to know that Left 4 Dead is based on the old Source engine and hence less powerful systems.

Mirror’s Edge

Mirror’s Edge is a new Jump’n'Run game of the new generation developed by EA.
In the game you will get in the role of a young heroine, which belongs to a kind of grouping of so-called runner. Runner move only on the roofs of the buildings and carry out a lifestyle trying to maintain contacts with ordinary people on the minimum.
The fact that people don’t know much about runner because of their lifestyle, and some politicians seem to use it and under the motto “Runner are all criminals” up their campaign. To make it credible, well-known politician, will be killed and a runner will made responsible for this.
The player then enters in the role of a girl named Faiths who should investigate the whole thing.
The highlight of the game is definitely the graphics. This is very pleasant, although sometimes monotonous. The virtual world seems to be very big. The story is linear. But it is a good one.
I like this fact, because I hate games where you can select too many opportunities. Such games need too much time to invest in it. As example for those kind of games I can call fallout 3. You will need a lot of time to try out all of the things what this game offers. It were good in the past, because there were much less games available.
What I would like especially to criticize in Mirror’s Edge is the fact that the game is optimized clearly for Nvidia graphics cards. Without a modern Nvidia graphics card with PhysX support, the game does not run well, unless you switch completely physical effects off.
That is like if a webmaster would optimize a webpage only for IE and the mistakes which then would be visible in Firefox and Opera would be ignored. This is a wrong philosophy, I think.

Splinter Cell Complete (10 years Tom Clancy game series)

It’s hard to believe that 10 years have already passed when the first title of one of the most successful game series was published. I don’t know what gift got the developer team, but the good news are: Ubisoft thought about us, gamer, too and offered the Splinter Cell Complete for only 17 Euro. Sure, there is not a real gift in the strict sense, because the games are not really for free. But if you have always been fascinated by Splinter Cell, but had for example only one part of the series, you have the opportunity now, to buy the whole collection very cheap. I’m, had no game of the series, but I have always wanted to get it. That’s why I was really glad about this offer. I ordered the game on Amazon Market Place. For some reason Amazon was able to deliver the game only in two weeks. I’m wanted to get the game faster and that’s why I bought it about one of Amazon’s partners. I was able to save not only time but also money because the shop where I ordered the game, offered it cheaper. On the second day I got the post. Great performance, I would say, especially when you consider that the smaller suppliers, such as that where I ordered the game, have less logistics capacity.
The game has a cardboard package. Inside it there is a normal DVD box. Strange I think the fact that on only 3 DVDs were attached on the spindle. The first part of the game is in a paper bag. Is it a savings measure, because there are no any DVD boxes, which could hold 4 DVDs on a spindle? I don’t know what that really was. But no matter.
I started to play from the first part. I have the whole collection and that’s why I should play through it, otherwise I could just get the last part. As for me, the graphic effects of the first part are not really bad.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Shadow of Chornobyl

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Shadow of Chornobyl is an action game with elements of RPG.

The story of the game, developed by GCS Game World, Ukrainian developer of computer games, tells about a second nuclear disaster occurs at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

The gameplay is a non-linear. Player has a possibility to explore The Zone or complete different quests that he can receive from NPCs.

The protagonist of the game called “The Marked One” is a Stalker. Stalkers live in The Zone, their aim is to collect artefacts and sell them.

I like this game because of authentic graphic. The buildings and autos look like the originals.

The AI has some bugs, but it is very intelligent. It is hard to forecast the behaviour of the enemy. If you will be killed and you try to understand the way of your enemy, you are wrong. The possibility that your enemy will choose other way to attack you is much more high than that he will try to repeat his doings.

There are some moments that I hate in this game. For example is a shooting of hundreds of bandits. It is not interesting to spend hours of time only by killing them and that’s why I didn’t finish the game yet.

Battlefield 2

Battlefield 2 is actually my first online game that I bought. It is an “old” game, but very popular.

The principle of the game is like how other games of this genre. You have a choice between 2 sides, which are fighting against each other. Each side has a spec ops, support, snipers, medics, engineers, assaults and anti-tanks.

Each infantry class has own weapons. Anti-Tanks have among other things bazooka, snipers – sniper riffle, engineers can repair vehicles, medics can treat and reanimate wounded soldiers.

The highlight of the game is, that you can fight not only with your weapons, but you can flight with different kinds of war-plains and helicopters, drive tanks, autos and boots.

For kills and teamwork you receive score that you can see in online stats. With a time, if you play good, you will receive awards and new weapons.
